Go Shopping with Google Wallet

Making quick and easy with smart phones was once a rumour about the much anticipated iPhone 5, but Google is making it happen much sooner.

Google recently introduced the Google Wallet, designed for an open commerce ecosystem and will eventually hold many if not all of the cards you keep in your leather wallet today. And because Google Wallet is a mobile app, it will be able to do more than a regular wallet ever could, like storing thousands of payment cards. Eventually your loyalty cards, gift cards, receipts, boarding passes, tickets, even your keys will be seamlessly synced to your Google Wallet. And every offer and loyalty point will be redeemed automatically with a single tap via NFC.

At first, Google Wallet and will be compatible with Nexus S 4G by Google, available on Sprint, and with plans to expand to other phones.  It will also support both Citi MasterCard and a Google Prepaid Card for payments and credits.  Will it succeed to improve the shopping experience for both consumers and businesses?   I'm rather eager to see what Apple has to offer, in competition with Google Wallet.
